Product Overview

This 100mm T29 flap disc uses calcined aluminium oxide – a grain that is roasted at high temperature during production. Calcination removes moisture, closes up the grain structure and makes each particle noticeably harder. The result is a disc that resists dulling and glazing when the workpiece heats up, which is exactly what heavy grinding does.

On top of the tougher grain, the T29 conical shape gives an aggressive cutting angle for fast stock removal, and the fibreglass backing keeps the face rigid at high speed. The deep black colour of the calcined grain makes the range easy to identify.

Made in-house on fully automatic lines in our 25-year-old factory, with the complete 100-180mm range always in stock. Every disc is checked for flap alignment, balance and adhesion before packing.

FAQ

Q1: What exactly is calcination?

A: Calcination is a high-temperature roasting step in production. It makes the aluminium oxide grain harder and denser, so the disc keeps its edge longer on demanding work.

Q2: How does it compare with ordinary brown (red) discs?

A: Brown alumina is the economy grade for general work. Calcined alumina costs a little more but stays sharp and cool-cutting far longer on heavy, continuous grinding.

Q3: Why is it black?

A: The black colour is characteristic of the calcined grain – it is simply how the treated abrasive looks.

Q4: What is the maximum speed?

A: 15,300 RPM (80 m/s). Always match the disc to the rated speed of your grinder.

Q5: Do you support OEM?

A: Yes – custom colour, logo, label and carton are all available from our factory.
