Product Overview

Most flap discs sit on a fibreglass backing, but this 100mm disc is mounted on a full steel backing plate – what we call the iron-back construction. The metal plate gives the disc a rigid face that cannot flex or distort even when you lean on it, so the abrasive stays in full contact with the work for faster, flatter grinding.

The T29 conical flap geometry adds an aggressive cutting angle on top of that rigidity, making this disc the first choice for heavy grinding, weld levelling and deburring on structural steel and thick plate. It runs cooler and more stable, and the reinforced back protects the grinder spindle from impact and vibration.

Made in our 25-year-old factory on fully automatic production lines, with every disc checked for balance, flap adhesion and plate flatness before packing. Factory direct, competitive pricing and fast worldwide delivery.

FAQ

Q1: What is the advantage of a steel backing plate?

A: The steel plate keeps the disc perfectly flat and rigid under heavy pressure, so it grinds faster, lasts longer and does not flex or tear like fibre-backed discs on tough jobs.

Q2: Is it heavier than a normal flap disc?

A: Yes, the steel back adds some weight, which many operators prefer for controlled, high-pressure grinding.

Q3: What grits are available?

A: P36 to P120 as standard, with custom grits available on request.

Q4: Can the abrasive be zirconia?

A: Yes, we can produce the same iron-back design with zirconia flaps for stainless steel work.

Q5: Do you support OEM?

A: Yes – custom colour, logo, label and carton are all available from our factory.
